Mildura CBD leap-year sale a chance for bargain-hunters

SHOPPERS keen to grab a bargain can head to Mildura’s CBD this Saturday for a range of leap-year sales.

More than 25 CBD businesses are participating in the leap-year event, which includes 29 per cent off stock, $29 sale racks and even $2.90 coffees.

Mildura City Heart’s Raelene Shields said they noticed February 29 fell on a Saturday this year and thought it would be the perfect chance to try something new.

“It’s a bit trickier for some of the nationals to be able to adjust prices,” she said.

“I was really excited with the amount of businesses that jumped on board.”

Many of the stores are doing whatever they can to fit into the theme.

“Klemms Newsagency are doing a $29 Tatts syndicate, Ziggy’s Cafe are doing $2.90 coffees. So there’s been a whole variety of whatever anyone can do,” Ms Shields said.

All About Me Undergear’s Jenni Woodward said the leap-year sale would be good for the CBD and the district.

“We’re having 29 per cent off Moontide Swimwear, we’re having a $29 rack and we’ve got a half-price rack,” she said.

“We might have a sneaky men’s sale too, but it hasn’t been decided what we’re doing yet.”

Ms Woodward said it was a good chance for shoppers to get out and about in the CBD.

“It only happens once every four years, this date, so it’s a good chance to get into the City Heart and have a look around,” she said.

A free children’s show, Get Your Groove On, will also be happening in the Langtree Mall from from 10am, along with a free jumping castle.
