PAR-3 golf will be played this Sunday at the Coomealla Golf Club for the first time.
The novel new idea is the brainchild of club member Ross Robertson.
All off-tee markers have been adjusted on the 18-hole course to transform the longer par-4 and 5 holes to par-3s.
Robertson said interest in the day had been “huge”, with a second tee-off time being added.
“I saw it played when I was down in Melbourne and thought it would be something a bit different,” Robertson said.
“We have had a fantastic response – the first shotgun start at 9.30am is completely booked out so we have added another one at 1pm.”
Robertson said he expected more than 200 players to take part on Sunday.
“We will have 120 players teeing off in the morning and, depending on how many we get in the afternoon, there should be a big turnout,” Robertson said.
“Greg Rhodes, Lee Bottomley and I have adjusted the holes accordingly so it will be a bit different – something new and hopefully people enjoy it.”
There will be plenty of prizes and giveaways and anyone who is interested in playing can contact Coomealla Golf Club.
