Have mild symptoms? Get tested in Mildura for COVID-19

SUNRAYSIA residents who show even mild symptoms are being urged to get tested for COVID-19 as the state continues a widespread blitz.

The Victorian Government is targeting 100,000 tests statewide before May 11 and Member for Midura Ali Cupper said anyone in her electorate showing symptoms should look into getting tested.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, dry throat, sore throat, runny nose and other respiratory symptoms.

Mildura’s COVID-19 clinic is at Sunraysia Community Health Services in Thirteenth Street.

Ms Cupper said said the government had said the results of the testing blitz would be considered in the gradual lifting of the current Stage 3 restrictions.

“And the testing eligibility criteria has changed to open up testing to more people in our state who are showing even the mildest of symptoms,” Ms Cupper said.

“So it’s important people can get tested so we can get the best picture possible of transmission of the virus in the state,” she said.

Mildura has officially recorded five COVID-19 cases, however there have been no new cases for several weeks.

Sunraysia Community Health Services requires people to contact its hotline on 5021 7653 between 9am and noon and 1pm to 4pm for triage and to book an appointment time.

The government has said current restrictions would stay in place until the State of Emergency ended on May 11, after which they would be reviewed.

Premier Daniel Andrews on Monday said 13,000 tests were carried out in Victoria on Sunday alone, taking the total number of tests since the blitz started to more than 56,000.
