IRYMPLE residents no longer have to travel to get a manicure.
The town’s first nail salon, Sunny Nails, opened on Wednesday opposite the Irymple Hotel.
Owner Quynh Anh Le was planning to open her business early in March but had to put the launch on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It was hard because we had no income as a family but I am very happy and excited to open now,” she said.
“It has been a dream of mine for the last three years and since moving to Australia three-and-a-half years ago I have worked very hard to start my own business.”
Ms Le has lived in Irymple with her family since 2018 and worked at a nail salon in Mildura.
“We noticed that there weren’t any nail shops in Irymple at the time and thought it would be a great opportunity to open our own,” she said.
“We decided to just start small.”
While working at the Mildura salon, Ms Le nurtured her dream of owning a business and continued to develop her skills.
Now that she has opened Sunny Nails, Ms Le is keen to succeed and has implemented safety measures due to the pandemic.
“We have purchased an acrylic screen and have hand sanitiser available,” she said.
Sunny Nails is located inside Hair Club and offers pedicures and manicures with high-quality SNS powder and shellac.
Ms Le said she was excited about opening her own business and was happy she had the opportunity to do it in Irymple.
“The best part of my job is getting to know my customers and making them happy,” she said.
“I love when my customers are as excited as I am about nails.”
