Hot start for Flynn in Premier League

BIG-hitting Lachlan Flynn helped St Andrew Stingers to the perfect start in Premier League on Saturday in the opening round of the Sunraysia District Tennis Association winter season.

Flynn has stepped up to lead Stingers this year in the top division and his 28-10 score was the catalyst for his side’s big win over Sarnia Supersonics.

St Andrews completely dominated to finish the day five (56) to Supersonics one (38).

In the other matches, Alcheringa Aces were too strong for last year’s premiers Red Cliffs, who were without their regular line-up and injured No.1 player Bill Madafferi.   The Aces won five (44) to two (37).

In Division One, Sarnia Sloggers look the team to beat, thrashing Alcheringa Avengers eight (71) to two (41).

Nichols Point were well led by veteran Bill McClumpha against Red Cliffs.

McClumpha finished the day 24-7 as his side ran out winners six (65) to four (58).
