Red Cliffs’ cricket starts this weekend

RED CLIFFS Cricket Association action starts this weekend to begin senior cricket in the district.

In the A Grade, officially the Fishers IGA one-day competition, Ouyen Rams host Tempy in an all-Mallee clash at Blackburn Park.

The other two games will be at Quandong Park, with South West playing Fire Brigade on the Skate Park ground and Millewa playing Nursery Ridge on the Caravan Park ground.

In B Grade, Tempy host Ouyen Rams, Nursery Ridge are against Millewa on the Onion Patch and Curlwaa host Fire Brigade across the river.

Cardross and South West have byes in that grade, with the fixture affected by work on new wickets being laid at Cardross Oval and Quandong Park 3 (South West’s home ground).

The RCCA board has endorsed Cricket Victoria’s COVID-19 protocols and has met the clubs to ensure they understand what is required.

The association has also boosted its junior numbers in the SCA competitions, with an under-16 team, an under-14 team, a J2 and a J1 team.
