BRAD Manna’s memory will live on with the fifth annual Brad Manna Memorial Twenty20 between Fire Brigade and Merbein South cricket clubs today at the Quandong Oval Caravan Park Ground.
Manna, a former player with both clubs, died in July 2017 following a battle with brain cancer after being diagnosed at just 26 the year before.
The Brad Manna Memorial Shield has been up for grabs since, with Fire Brigade claiming the first three and Merbein South pegging one back last year.
Fire Brigade Cricket Club’s Shane Fielding said the match will be a good way to remember Manna.
“It’s pretty low key, basically just his mates getting together and celebrating his life,” he said.
Spectators are welcome, following COVID-19 protocols, with the match to start at 10.30am.
“We’ll have all the sign-in stuff there at the ground for anyone that wants to spectate,” Fielding said. “They just have to sign-in and we should be covered then.”
