Rex brings back Mildura-Adelaide link in January

REGIONAL Express (Rex) will resume flights between Mildura and Adelaide early in the new year.

Rex was forced to suspend the service in April due to the COVID-19 border restrictions, but it will resume from Monday, January 4.

Rex plans to run two return services per week, on Mondays and Thursdays.

The service will depart Adelaide at 12.20pm and arrive in Mildura at 1.55pm and depart Mildura at 2.15pm and arrive in Adelaide at 2.50pm.

Rex network strategy general manager Warrick Lodge said Rex had always been committed to resuming the Mildura-Adelaide service as soon as practical after the relaxing of COVID-19 state border restrictions.

“Rex well understands this is an important transport link for the city of Mildura and surrounding area,” Mr Lodge said.

“Rex will continue to offer the Rex Community Fare between Mildura and Adelaide, priced at $128 and available for each-way travel,” he said.

“This is Rex’s commitment to giving back to the local Mildura community and encouraging passenger growth to our long-term mutual benefit.”

Mildura Airport chief executive Trevor Willcock said it was pleasing that Rex saw fit to restart the link with Adelaide.

“We applaud Rex’s commitment to the community fare, which makes the route viable and affordable,” he said.

“The city of Mildura will greatly benefit from having this route back up and running.”
