Red Cliffs Cricket Association: Round 10

A Grade: Nursery Ridge keen to extend lead

NURSERY Ridge can further solidify their place at the top of the Red Cliffs Cricket Association A Grade ladder against second-placed Tempy down in the Mallee today.

The visitors are the only undefeated team coming out of the Christmas break, with six wins and three draws from nine games.

Tempy have the second-best record with five wins, two draws and two losses, sitting 15 points adrift of the ladder leaders.

Millewa are eyeing off solidifying a top–four berth post-Christmas, welcoming winless South West to their patch.

The Bullants sit a game clear inside the four, and a game behind third-placed Ouyen Rams.

With the Rams playing fifth-placed Fire Brigade this looms as a chance for Millewa to make some breathing space for themselves.

B Grade: Rolls should continue for Cardross, Rams

CARDROSS and Ouyen Rams were the unbeaten pacesetters before Christmas, and this doesn’t look like slowing down when play resumes today.

Cardross are at home to sixth-placed Tempy while Ouyen Rams are in town facing winless South West.

Both the top sides sit on 60 points, a game clear of third and three games clear of the fifth-placed Fire Brigade.

Nursery Ridge play Fire Brigade on the Onion Patch – and a lot of eyes will be on the bowling line-up of the hosts. Former Victorian paceman Jake Reed rolled the arm over in the round before Christmas, returning figures of 0/17 from one over.
