Tribute game on tomorrow

THE Josh Herrick Tribute Match between the Red Cliffs Cricket Association and Mildura East will be played at Brian Weightman Oval tomorrow.

Held each season since former Nichols Point junior and cricket obsessed teenager Josh Herrick died in May 2010 after a 17-month fight against osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, Red Cliffs won the last Herrick match by four wickets in the 18th over, chasing down East’s 85.

Red Cliffs’ Brady Moore was the star of the day taking 4/8, his effort earning him player of the match, however he has transferred to Merbein South in the Sunraysia Cricket Association this season and will not be available for selection.

Josh’s father, Paul, is the RCCA president and a former Mildura East player.

A junior match will be played from 1pm and will serve as a curtain-raiser to the senior match.

RCCA junior squad: Noah Holmyard, Rylan Newey, Bryan Rogers, Aimee Pierce, Isaiah Bettes, James Bobbin, Jack Wisneske, Sam O’Shannessy, Jai Grayling, Blake Smith, Jonty Staley, Riley Jobson, Taj Flentjar.
