COOMEALLA

LAST Wednesday’s A Grade winner was David McDonnell with 39 net.

Runner-up was Ross Robertson with 38 on countback from David Martin.

The B Grade winner was Frank Tassone on 40 net. Runner-up was Col Pulham (38)  on countback from Michael Baynes.

NTPs were: Andrew Rix (third, 283), Ivan McKenzie (seventh, 209), David Martin (11th, 490) and Barry Waters (18th, 150).

Sonya Golitschenko won the ladies’ section with 38 from Robyn Hand (37). 

NTPs were: Sue Laird (third, 40, and seventh, 350) and Lee Bottomley (18th, 10).

Friday’s medley nine-hole Stableford winner was Keegan Blows with 20 net, runner-up was Peter Duscher (18).

NTPs were: Gary Thomas (11th, 94) and Ray Lyons (18th, 600).

Saturday men’s stroke A Grade winner was Justin McPhee (68) from Aldo D’Amico (69). Third was Alan Scorer (71).

B Grade was won by Thorell Lees (68). The runner-up was Murry Appleby (73) and third went to David Guild (73).

Peter Lorrie won C Grade with 68. Runner-up was Mark Lee (69) and third was  Trevor Crabb (71). 

NTPs were: Ivan McKenzie (third, 372), Neil Saunders (seventh, 159), Paul Wright (11th, 322) and David McDonnell (18th, 300).

The women played par on Saturday.

Winner: Salli Fox: +3. Runner-up: Sue Laird: +2.

NTPs were: Lynda Saunders (third, 27), Sandy Waters (seventh, 323), Marg Midgley (11th, 162) and Lee Bottomley (18th, 0). 

Sunday’s medley Stableford was won by Keegan Blows on 42. Runner-up was Ryan Russell on countback. Aaron Duck (39) was third and Mark White (38) fourth. 

NTPs were: Stuart Ferguson (third, 690), Robert Anderson (seventh, 270), Adam Martin (11th, 60) and Darren Bottomley (18th, 115).

MERBEIN

FIRST of all, the captain apologises for not entering the previous week’s results. 

On December 30, Jason Finch + 1 won from Graeme Kerr.

The Adrian Rudd Perpetual Trophy Stableford event was won by John Bell with 40 points from Steve Russell on 39.

Last Wednesday, M. Cook took the win with 35 Stableford points over M. Dean with 34.

Saturday was the first 4BBB Stableford for the year with the win going to A. Finch and N. Lanigan with a red-hot 47 points over L. Craig and B. Lanigan (43).

NTPs were: M. Dean (12th, 355, and 18th, 215) and M. Wilkes (14th, 390).

On Australia Day we have a two-person Ambrose open day.

WENTWORTH

THURSDAY’S Stableford event was convincingly won by Annette Green with 36 points.

Runner up went to Bill Murray (33).

NTP was Howard Hankinson with a distant 900cm on the eighth. Mr Risky to Max Hodges with 25 points.

Sunday’s stroke round with 71 net went to the ever improving Ged Chapman. 

Ged’s form has been outstanding since Christmas.

Runner-up Bill Murray also had 71.

NTP was Bill Murray with 530cm on the 12th.

Mr Risky — no controversy this time — went to Max Hodges with 91 net.

Tuesday’s chicken run went to Tom Clark with -1.

RED CLIFFS

THE highlight of Wednesday’s medley Stableford was a hole-in-one on the eighth by Bill Woosnam. 

Well done, Bill. 

Terry Pain was the winner on the day, with 38 points from Michael Hogan (37).

Winners of Saturday’s medley foursomes were Neville Birch and Fay Ross on 66 net from Don Fiorillo and Jason Plant (67.5). Third went to John Filippi and Ivan Ban (70). 

NTPs were: Deb Hassel (eighth) Denise Morgan (15th) and Robert Stewart (17th).

Australia Day will be an Open Texas Stableford in fours.

RIVERSIDE

JANUARY 11 was a winner for Brian Young in the veteran and friends Stableford on 38 points. Tim Donaldson was the better after a countback for runner-up on 35 points, leaving Peter Ellery and

George Mason in the background.

Tuesday’s 18-hole stroke saw two of our new ladies burning up the course. 

Tracey Lee has been maintaining her excellent form, winning on (101-67) and Teresa Hagen (98-68) has been improving with every game. 

The nine-hole event saw Roylene Bailey finishing on top (51-32).

The men’s Wednesday game was played in two grades.

Dale Meredith had the best back nine to win A Grade after a countback against Nicholas George and Ben Bamborough, all on 37 points.

Dwaine White’s 34 points gave him the win in B Grade from Rob Arnold (33).

Thursday’s 4BBB team Stableford was a farewell to Ayse Jewitt, who has made the move back to Turkey. We wish her all the best in her new ventures.

The winners on the day were the team of May Connolly, Pat Riordan, Rose Gilardi and Tracey Lee on 84 points in front of Fiona Turlan, Tracey Coulson, Jan Lloyd and Leonnie Nott (81).

Friday’s medley nine-hole Stableford saw Peter Winslow winning on 19 points from a line-up of eight on 18 points with Ray Cottle snatching that one.

The ladies played stroke on Saturday and the round of the week for the gals came from a very happy winner in Tracey Bryan with a magic 85-66. Runner-up, Pat Riordan’s round was great as well, finishing with 90-69.

It was monthly medal for the men on Saturday with A Grade going to Darren Gray (81-70) from Michael Holcroft (76-71).

Greg King took out B Grade (88-73) over Ned Klemm (89-75) with Trevor Williams (87-75) missing out on a countback. 

But it was Peter George who took the honours this week after an amazing round of 84-65 to pick up the C Grade medal, in front of another terrific score, Kevin Challis’s 92-68.

Last Sunday it was Jake Keil winning the medley Stableford and this week, brother Adam took that mantel, completing his round on the same score, a very fine 39. Ian Fleming’s 36 put him in second place.

Riverside will hold an Ambrose in twos on Australia Day. Please contact the club to enter. 

MILDURA

EIGHTY men played 4BBB Stableford on January 13. 

The winners were Rob Toms and John Williams who scored 47 points; second were Nigel Ingram and Robin Hubble (44) and Bruce Dickie and Ernie Tyrrell were third after a countback. 

NTPs were: Bob Shipsides (first, 154), Paul McErvale (second, 124, which also won the pig prize) John Williams (10th, 780) and Ray Quirk (12th, 420).

The twilight nine-hole competition on January   ++15 was won by Mabel Crouch (19 points). Frank Tippett, Angus Baird and Glenys Anderson all had 15 points and won a ball each.

The men’s Stableford competition on January 16 was in three grades. 

Paul White scored 40 points to win A Grade from Nick Katis (37) and Peter Hartmann (36). 

The B Grade winner was Bob Bettess on 38. Second was Ernie Tyrrell (36) and Ron Casey (35) was third. 

Tony Beyen won C Grade by scoring 40 points. Tomas Floyd (39) was second and Alan McAskill (38) third. 

NTPs were: Lee Tucker (first, 142), Paul White (second, 95), Cliff Ferguson (10th, 434) and Steve Phair (12th, 340).

The Mildura veteran men’s competition on Monday was won by Brian Murphy, who scored 38 points. 

Second went to Geoff Cameron (37). 

NTPs were: Alan Steedman (second) and Greg Rhodes (12th).
