Restaurant in line for award

A MILDURA restaurant has been recognised as one of the top eateries in southern Australia.

Thai-Riffic, in Langtree Avenue, has been named as a finalist in the 2025 Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence for Victoria and Tasmania.

The awards celebrate the standards, skill and resilience of the region’s food service sector and this year attracted a record number of nominations, reflecting the exceptional benchmarks being set across cafes, fine dining, caterers and venue-based restaurants.

The awards recognise Victoria and Tasmania’s diverse food scene — from city centres to regional towns — and acknowledge the many people and ideas that bring the sector to life.

Restaurant & Catering Australia president John Hart said the 2025 finalists reflect what makes Victoria and Tasmania stand out in Australia’s food landscape.

“Our finalists showcase the consistency, passion, and professionalism that keep customers coming back, Mr Hart said.

“This region continues to lead with both innovation and tradition and we’re proud to recognise the operators driving it forward.”

Winners will be revealed at a black-tie gala dinner on Monday, September 1 at Encore, St Kilda.

The event will bring together industry peers for an evening of recognition, connection, and celebration with early bird tickets on sale until August 4.

The Restaurant & Catering Association is the national industry body representing more than 57,000 cafes, restaurants and catering businesses across Australia.
