MILDURA West’s charge to the finals needs another big scalp, with top-of-the-table Irymple in their sights today.
Two weeks ago West beat third-placed Coomealla Wentworth as part of a two-win weekend to greatly improve their finals chances, going on to defeat Merbein South last weekend to bank more valuable points, but the task gets even harder on Irymple’s home deck.
West sit one game behind Coomealla Wentworth and Settlers, who occupy third and fourth. However, they are two clear of sixth-placed Nichols Point. The Swallows go in unchanged from the side that accounted for Mildura East last weekend, while for West Stefan Knudsen is out for Ethan Hicks and Brandon Dixon is in for Oskar Faulkhead.
Irymple back-up tomorow with the Twenty20 grand final against Workers Gol Gol at Mildura Senior College.

BOTH sides are coming off losses last weekend, Settlers to Workers Gol Gol and East to Irymple.
With West sniffing around the top four, just a game behind fourth-placed Settlers, the visitors will be keen to lock up the points against seventh-placed East.
East have been dealt a blow with their top batsman Tom Vadlja out, as well as Muki Sharma, who in among their top wicket-takers.
Aaron Cordell and Tom Dowling come in.
Settlers welcome back some big names with Jason Morrison and Seamus Keogh in.
Big-hitting opening bat Luke Stanbrook and his stand-in opening partner from last week, Josh Coates, come out of the side.
Merbein South v Nichols Point

IT is almost last-chance saloon for Nichols Point in terms of a maiden Sunraysia Cricket Association First Division finals berth.
The Pointers sit three wins outside the top four with seven rounds to play before finals and even if all goes right for them from here on, they will still need other results to go their way.
Merbein South, out at Chaffey Park, are on the agenda today, with the Saints still chasing a first win of the season.
They have a handy boost to their bowling stocks with former National Under 19 Championships Cricket Australia XI representative Campbell Griffiths back and with a run under his belt following his return last week.
Veteran Mark White and opening batsman Brady Moore come back in for this match with Dylan Vertigan and Damon Duffield out.
Nichols Point’s bowling stocks have taken a hit with Matt Boyd suspended for abusive language towards an umpire, and Tyson Giles, Nash Richman and Ant Morris are also out.
Dale Chappell, Tate Hulland, Raki Woetai and Dean Fulco come in.
