Red Cliffs Cricket Association, Round 12

A grade
Second place up for grabs

OUTRIGHT second place is there for the taking today with Tempy hosting Ouyen Rams.

The sides have identical records on 70 points each, 25 behind runaway leaders Nursery Ridge and 20 clear of Millewa in fourth.

As the season gets closer to finals time the seeding for those matches will be important so either side will appreciate getting the jump here.

Nursery Ridge come across to the Caravan Park Oval to face Millewa, looking to keep their season rolling.

Millewa are 20 points clear in fourth so aren’t in immediate danger of dropping out of the four, but with Fire Brigade playing winless South West that gap looks like it will narrow.

South West were rolled for 15 last week and will be hoping to be much more competitive, but will need vast improvement to claim the points.

B Grade
Crucial clash for Tempy and Brigade

AS the finals race heats up, Fire Brigade and Tempy will lock horns in a typical “eight point” game.

Both sides sit on 30 points in fifth and sixth, 15 points adrift of fourth-placed Nursery Ridge.

While Nursery Ridge play South West and are warm favourites to maintain their buffer on the ladder, the Tempy and Fire Brigade match would almost rule out the loser from making up enough ground with only a handful of rounds to go.

Ouyen Rams are tipped for a win over seventh-placed Millewa while Cardross, on top of the ladder, will have a good tune up against third-placed Curlwaa.
