Mildura’s Sun City Rollerama says the party’s over

MILDURA institution Sun City Rollerama will close its doors next month, the centre’s owners announced this week.

In a Facebook post on Monday evening, Sun City Rollerama said the roller skating and go kart centre would shut down at the end of March, putting the brakes on a decades-long legacy of entertaining children young and old.

In Monday night’s post, Sun City Rollerama thanked its patrons, but stopped short of telling fans why the centre was closing.

“We would like to thank our valued customers and staff who have supported us over our 30 years of trading,” the post said.

“Sadly due to circumstances out of control (not COVID-related) we will be closing our doors on Sunday 28 March.”

The closure means roller skating and go karting won’t be on the list of activities for Sunraysia’s young people over the school holidays, with the Term 1 break not set to start until April 1.

The Rollerama’s closure also follows other Sunraysia activity centres shutting their doors recently – Mildura’s Aquacoaster and Inflatable World both closed in the past 12 months, and the House of Bounce shut in 2018.

Rollerama declined to comment.
