What’s On in Sunraysia this weekend

EXPERIENCE what Mildura has to offer this weekend through our useful guide.

Friday Roving Performers: Mildura City Heart – 6pm-late

PEOPLE out and about in Mildura this weekend should keep their eyes and ears peeled for some local musicians. A range of bands and performers will be scattered throughout the city centre and the riverfront precinct from daytime until late every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Twilight Social Tennis: Robinvale Lawn Tennis Club – 5.45pm-9pm

EVERYONE is welcome to try out tennis. There’s no need to bring a team, or even a racquet – just ask to borrow one. It’s also a great way to meet people and find a match, with players of all calibres joining in the fun.

With One Voice Choir: Sunraysia Community Health Services – 6pm-7.30pm

HEAD along to this inclusive choir session, where no auditions or experience are necessary.

You & I: Mildura Arts Centre Theatre – 7.30pm-9pm

MUSICAL theatre stars Rachael Beck and Michael Cormick will create a truly theatrical experience when they hit the stage at MAC tonight. You & I brings the pair of old friends together to share music and stories from their time onstage, including some of the biggest Broadway hits. Tickets are available from Mildura Arts Centre.

Saturday Walking off the War Within: Nowingi Place – 8am-3.30pm

SUNRAYSIA residents are invited to shine a light on mental health. Community members are invited to join emergency service and Defence Force personnel to walk in solidarity along wheelchair-accessible 2km, 6km, 10km or 20km routes in memory of returned soldier Nathan Shanahan, who lost his battle with mental health issues in 2016. Mildura Weir parkrun: Opposite Rio Vista Park – 8am-12pm

PARKRUN is on every Saturday morning and is open to anyone. The timed 5km course suits most skill levels and all participants are welcome to grab a coffee afterwards. Parkrun is free, but please register online.

Sunraysia Auskick Fun Day: Jaycee Park – 9am-11am

ASPIRING footy players and families are encouraged to head along to this footy fun day, with a range of activities including bouncy castles, game cubes, some footy – and a visit from the Dusty Martin mascot. Children can also register with local clubs on the day for the upcoming season.

Clean Up Australia Day: Apex Park – 9.30am-11am

LOCALS are encouraged to step up to clean up this weekend and make Mildura’s Apex Park beautiful and clean so everyone can enjoy the beach at its best. Helpers can register on the day or online at the Clean Up Australia Day website to get their Clean Up rubbish bags ready to go.

Games Night: Mildura Church of Christ – 4pm-9.30pm

SUNRAYSIA Tabletop Gamers are back, opening up the club to the community for a games night this weekend. People are encouraged to bring along their favourite games to play. Cost is $5 cash per person and a small canteen will be provided.

2021 Walpeup Cup: Olympic Park Speedway – from 5pm

IT should be a great night of racing as the karts take to the track to fight it out for the Annual Standards Walpeup Cup.

Sunday Mildura City Market: Langtree Mall – 8am-1pm

THIS fortnightly market has everything from craft to fresh produce, dried fruit and books, with dozens of stallholders sprinkled throughout Mildura’s Langtree Mall.

Women on Country: Johnstons Bend – 9am-12pm

INDIGENOUS women are invited to gather together to connect, create and share culture. Chairs, picnic blankets, water and snacks are encouraged.

Ballads on the Barka: Bilbarka Park, Pooncarie – 10am-2pm

FEATURING Tamworth Country Music Festival’s most promising future star winner Tony Smith along with a host of other pop-up artists and more all set on the banks of the Barka, this is an event not to be missed. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a chair, a hat and a smile.

Community Garden Hour: Mildura Eco Village – 10am-11am

THE Mildura Eco Village Community Garden hour is for anyone who is interested in gardening, helping out, getting together and chatting about all things garden. Locals are invited to go along and get their hands dirty as they pitch in to help the community garden flourish.
