VETERANS
FORTY-two players travelled to Wentworth to compete in a special event for district veterans.
Returning after an absence of eight years, players reacquainted themselves with the course. The general consensus was that the day was a great success and that next year this round should be included in the normal syllabus.
Wentworth club captain Bill Slee’s support in organising the day was important in the day’s success and we thank him and his co-workers for the game and the lunch.
The winners in A Grade were Ned Clemm who scored 38 points from runner up Terry Buckingham on 37. In B Grade the result was closer with Peter Gilmore edging out Maurice Munro, both scoring 34 points but separated on a countback.
The ball winners who scored 32 or more were Keith Williams, Alec Cattanach, Joe Rocca, David Lloyd, Ron Moore, Ferdi Bergamin, Grant Giddings, Ron Leamon, Brian Young, Jimmy Stephen and Ken Upton.
