West, Irymple, celebrate junior SCA flags

MILDURA West and Irymple have both celebrated Sunraysia Cricket Association junior premierships on Sunday.

West claimed the under-16 title following a 93 run win over Gol Gol Coomealla at John Hall Oval, while the Swallows won the under-14 premiership with a six-wicket victory over Mildura West White at Henshilwood Oval.

Josh Driscoll led the way with the bat for West’s under-16s, scoring 51 as his side were all out for 148 in the 39th over, while Max Morgan also scored an important 39.

Leading wicket taker for the season Mitchell Munro continued that form for the NSW combination side with 3/42, while Cooper McDowell, Riley Moore and Joel Schneider all claimed two wickets each.

In response Gol Gol Coomealla were all out for 55, with Moore the leading scorer with an unbeaten 17.

Riley Cox claimed 3/8 for West, with Chace Dalla Santa and Max Fleri both grabbing two.

In the under-14 grand final, West’s Keelan Roper top scored with an impressive 28 as his side was dismissed 91.

Jimmy Milsom (3/8) and Mason Warn (3/20) had the best bowling figures for Irymple, Tom Creamer and Tyler Ellis also taking two wickets each.

After losing some early wickets, Ellis (32 not out) and Milsom (23 not out) steered the Swallows home with an unbeaten 63 run partnership.

Ethan Dalla Santa was the best of the West bowlers with 2/18.
