What’s on in Sunraysia, June 11-14

LOOKING for something to do in Sunraysia over the long weekend? Markets, harness racing, an air show and a long-awaited circus are on the program.

Friday

Mildura harness racing day meeting

Mildura Harness Recreation Reserve, 11.30am-6.30pm

THIS should be a great day of racing, with the first event to start at 11.40am. While the track is closed to spectators, racing will be broadcast online at thetrots.com.au. For more information, visit Mildura Harness Racing Club on Facebook or call 5023 2454.

Sesame Street Circus Spectacular – Silvers Circus

Wentworth Showgrounds – 6.30pm-8pm

THERE will be fun for the whole family when the circus finally takes to the big top this weekend. In a 90-minute extravaganza, a host of performers from across the world will take the stage to entertain crowds, as well as Sesame Street favourites including Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Bert and Ernie and Super Grover. Saturday

Fort Courage Fishing Competition

Fort Courage Caravan Park – 6.30am-late

THIS monthly fishing competition is a chance for a great day and night out with good company. The $14 entry fee includes a two-course dinner on Saturday night and camping is available.

Sunraysia Farmers Market and Riverfront Boutique Markets

Jaycee Park – 8am-noon

HELD on the banks of the picturesque Murray River, the farmers’ market offers a bounty of produce from local growers and makers, with everything from fresh veg to dried fruit and baked goods. The big farmers’ breakfast spread, with freshly squeezed juice, is always a hit. This week, the market will include local artists and makers from the Riverfront Boutique Markets, with all sorts of jewellery, art, candles and textiles.

Sunraysia Sports Aircraft annual fly-in public day

Wentworth Aerodrome – 10am-5pm

ALL sorts of aircraft, including a replica Spitfire, will be on display at the newly revamped Wentworth Aerodrome this weekend, along with vintage cars and motorbikes. Visitors can also enjoy joy flights at nominal prices. A barbecue lunch and refreshments will be available.

Game Night

Mildura Church of Christ – 4pm-9.30pm

SUNRAYSIA Tabletop Gamers are holding a games night this weekend. Gamers are encouraged to bring along their favourite games to play. Cost is $5 cash per person and snacks will be available. Under-18s must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Mildura City Market

Langtree Mall – 9am-1pm

THIS fortnightly market has everything from craft to fresh produce, dried fruit and books.

Mallee Pride Social Chill Out

Nowingi Place – 2pm
