Goal-setting is an individual matter, says fitness trainer

FIRST off, a little introduction about myself.

I’m Daniel Coghlan and each week I’ll be giving you some tips and things to help you with your fitness journey.

Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has been exercising for a little while now, I hope I can help in some way.

A little bit about my background: I have always been into sport but it wasn’t until I managed to play football at a reasonable level that I took my fitness a little more seriously and decided to study and get my Certificate IV in fitness.

Then I joined my partner in business with our own training studio. For four years we have been doing group training.

But enough about me, I’m here to help you.

What to expect moving forward? I want this to be fun and enjoyable read and to actually give you some tips you will use as I see personally the things people struggle with the most.

So here is my first piece of advice: begin where you are and think about what you want to achieve.

Now, this sounds very simple. But it’s what I see most people get wrong.

We think we want to be like someone we see on social media, for example.

By all means, let them motivate you if that’s what you need.

But you are you, don’t forget that.

What you will enjoy for exercise will be different to them and that’s fine.
