Cardio and weights program workouts go hand-in-hand

LAST week I wrote about weights.

Let’s continue the chat today about the other form of exercise, cardio.

Here are five benefits of cardio:

1. Improves heart health

2. Helps lower blood pressure

3. Assists with weight loss

4. Helps lower stress

5. Helps with mental health

Now, these are just some benefits. I also just want to clear up a few things to help you with a couple of common questions.

“What cardio should I do?”

Any you like. Make it fun so you are more likely to stick to it.

I could say you should run, but if you hate running what are the chances of you doing it for a couple of weeks and then stopping?

“Should I eat before cardio or fast before it?”

Look let’s face it, again do what works for you.

You might feel a little unwell if you eat before, if that’s you then don’t eat right before.

I want you to think big picture here and do what you are going to be able to do long-term. Then you will see results.

I also want to mention how the two, weights and cardio, work together and I’m very big on having both in your exercise routine.

Have a good balance of both.

You may hear one is better than the other but really, both play a big role and we are after movement and looking to get you strong, fit and healthy.
