Two new testing clinics open in Irymple and Mildura

TWO walk-in COVID-19 testing clinics opened in Irymple and Mildura on Wednesday, taking pressure off the drive-through testing site at Mildura Recreation Reserve.

The clinics are located at Irymple Multicultural Senior Citizens Centre, 2126 Fifteenth Street, and Australian Clinical Labs, 152 Lime Avenue, Mildura, opening varying hours.

The tier 1 and tier 2 testing site at Old Aerodrome Ovals closed after demand slowed on Tuesday.

A Sunraysia Community Health Services spokesperson said the site could reopen immediately if demand for tests increased.

Walk-in testing is available at the Barratt & Smith pathology clinic at 127 Langtree Avenue, Mildura.

Tests are available in Shillidays Lane, behind the clinic, between 8am and 4pm weekdays.

Mildura recorded two new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Victoria recorded 26, all of which are linked to existing outbreaks. Victoria recorded 26, all of which were linked to known outbreaks.

On Wednesday, Mildura recorded 520 coronavirus tests, bringing the town’s total to 3190 since Sunday.

Health authorities were preparing for more queues at testing sites next week as residents come forward to get tested on day 13 of their isolation period.

Bendigo Health has confirmed its team would remain in Mildura until next week to assist with day 13 tests.
