New role sees airport CEO set to jet

CHIEF executive officer at Mildura Airport, Trevor Willcock, has announced he’ll be moving on from the role in June this year.

First appointed to the top job in October 2019, Mr Willcock touched down in the role less than six months before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It has been an incredible journey and I am immensely proud of what our Mildura aviation community has accomplished,” he said.

“I want to thank our employees, stakeholders, and our customers for their unwavering support during the most challenging time in our airport’s history.

“As a Mildura resident, I will continue to be a part of this tight-knit community.”

Along with guiding regional Victoria’s busiest airport though pandemic lockdowns, national and international border closures and a heavily affected tourist market, Mr Willcock also led the region’s aviation response to the Bonza collapse.

Mildura Airport board chair Marcus Guthrie thanked Mr Willcock for his for his time with the organisation.

“Under Trevor’s guidance, Mildura Airport has grown into a stronger, more innovative organisation, all the while dealing with the many adverse challenges the aviation industry faced post pandemic,” Mr Guthrie said.

“We congratulate Trevor on his new opportunity and look forward to building upon his legacy.”

Mr Willcock is departing to take on a new role in the South Pacific region.

A statement from Mildura Airport said the board has started the search for his replacement.
