What are you budgeting for?

THE Albanese Government’s cruel approach to cost-of-living relief was on display in Canberra this week in an ugly and unexpected final sitting week.

Mildura, Sunraysia and Mallee mortgage-holders who are $50,000 a year ($136 a day) worse off under Labor are expected to be grateful because, in 15 months, Labor will give them 70 cents a day!

Worse still, Treasurer Jim Chalmers expects you to be thankful that you’ll get 40 cents a day more energy bill relief until 31 December.

Annual electricity bills under Labor are up 32 per cent, $4.30 a day more than they promised, which is $1,300 a year higher, not down $275 like Labor promised 97 times before the last election.

The Coalition’s energy policies are 44 per cent cheaper than Labor’s including – in the long term – nuclear power and in the meantime, an east coast gas reservation policy and more gas exploration, which will also deliver lower power prices than under Labor.

The Dutton-Littleproud Coalition is laser-focused on immediate cost-of-living relief, offering a 50 per cent cut in fuel excise, around 25 cents a litre, which benefits everyone, young and old in Mallee, not just taxpayers.

The Albanese Labor Government has taken away Australians’ housing affordability – which has risen 14 per cent – and wrecked food affordability, with grocery prices up 30 per cent.

Australian wages no longer buy what they once did at the supermarket.

Mums and dads are putting groceries back on the shelf because they simply cannot afford them.

Mortgage repayments are up 41 per cent, gas prices are up 32 per cent, and rents are up 18 per cent.

And remember, from 1 January to 30 June, under Labor you will get neither energy bill or income tax relief.

Labor’s tricky, election Budget is about the next five weeks, not the next five years.

Don’t be fooled by the Treasurer’s spin – Labor’s generosity is wafer thin.

The Albanese Government has failed to improve Australia’s productivity and to grow our security in the most unstable global environment in 80 years.

Labor’s economic mismanagement is buried as they swim in income tax revenue and mineral royalties.

The jackpot machine of the Australian success story is spitting out chips but it is all going down the drain of debt, deficit and bloated public spending.

Australians need a Coalition government that respects you and your hard-earned income and will get Australia back on track.
