WITH the constant rising COVID infection numbers the hope the statewide lockdown would end last week took a nosedive.
As a result, Monday’s veterans event scheduled to be played in Robinvale could not go ahead. It is not clear whether that event can be rescheduled or cancelled.
We will pass on any developments to our club representatives as soon as we can.
At the time of writing, no information was available but the government was scheduled to release more details this week.
If the situation doesn’t change, our hope is that we can compete in our next planned event which is due to be played at the Merbein Golf Club on Monday, October 4.
There is some optimism that rural areas without cases will be granted some exceptions and we hope that will allow our locals to play golf.
One positive message is that those who have received a double vaccination dose will be given additional freedoms, so it would seem a great idea to complete your vaccination as soon as possible. It appears many of our members have or will soon be fully vaccinated.
For now, we can only wait and hope. Until then keep isolated and safe.
