Second dose dates announced for Wenty

MORE than 600 people in the Wentworth Local Government Area who were administered their first dose of Pfizer vaccine in a joint operation by Far West Local Health District and the Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT) will have their second dose when the team returns to the area next week.

The Far West LHD and AUSMAT will deliver the Pfizer second dose vaccination for those who received their first dose of Pfizer when they visited on Monday, September 6, and Wednesday, September 8, in the Dareton/Wentworth LGA.

Community members who qualify for the second clinic and wish to receive their second Pfizer dose will need to attend the same venue where their first dose was given.

Those who received the first dose at Namatjira Reserve on September 6 should attend the same location on Monday, September 27; those who attended Dareton Library on September 7 should return on Tuesday, September 28; and those who had their first dose at Wentworth Showgrounds on Wednesday, September 8, should attend again on September 29 or 30.

All clinic times are from 9am to 4pm and bookings are not required.

Anyone unable to attend next week’s dates or venues for their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be required to make an appointment for their second dose at the Buronga Midway Centre by phoning 1800 602 001 or email FWLHD-CommunityVaccination@health.nsw.gov.au to register.

The Far West LHD team will also provide transport to attend to the second dose, if required.

For community members who still require first-dose vaccinations, the FWLHD is providing weekly clinics at the Buronga Midway Centre – by appointment only.
