New Covid case attends Mildura Law Courts

A PERSON who attended Mildura Law Courts on Tuesday has tested positive for COVID-19.

The person was tested on Tuesday morning after presenting with COVID-like symptoms, and later tested positive.

While the case has not yet been listed on the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) website, a Court Services Victoria spokesperson confirmed it was working with the health department to support affected staff and members of the public.

It is the second new case in the Mildura Local Government area in the past week, with a person in Merbein testing positive at the weekend.

No exposure sites have been listed on the DHHS website, with the initial case understood to be considered low risk to the community.

Authorities will stop publishing tier 2 exposure sites in a few days with the list of sites across the state continuing to blow out.

Mildura and Dareton recorded more COVID-19 fragments following the latest wastewater testing last Thursday.

The Mildura wastewater treatment plant had an unexpected positive detection, while the Koorlong plant had an expected detection.

It was Mildura’s third unexpected detection in as many days and Koorlong’s ninth expected detection in almost a month.

On Wednesday, Victoria recorded 1420 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths.
