TODAY’s event is stableford for men and women with a medley nine hole stableford on Friday. Saturday and Sunday is stableford both days.
Last Wednesday’s men’s stableford results were: A Grade, Aaron Blake on 38 points with Mark Woodhouse runner-up on 38 points and Larry Frasca rounding out the top three with 37 points. B Grade winner was Russ Saunders on 44 points, runner up Jeff Stewart on 37 points on a countback from Terry Jones also on 37 points.
Ball comp: You had to have a score between 35 and 44 points to win a ball with 13 balls handed out.
NTPs: 3rd – Vince Dichiera (535cm), 7th – Alan Scorer (741cm), 11th – Mark Woodhouse (409cm), 18th – Greg Murphy (439cm).
Last Wednesday’s women’s stableford winner was Chritine Watts on 37 points on a countback from runner-up Marg Midgley also no 37 points.
Ball comp was 35 to 37 with three balls handed out.

Friday’s medley nine hole stableford event was won by Greg Rhodes on 18 points on a countback from Roib Garioch.
Nine balls were handed out for the ball comp for scores from 17-18.

Last Saturday was round one of the Mildura District Golf Association District Championships. The A Grade daily winner was Cam Stewart 66 net from runner-up Jacob Slimmon on 67 net with David Martin third on 70 net.
B Grade was won by Ray Lyons on 67 net from John Thomson on 68 net with third place Michael Wade on 70 net.
C Grade winner went to Ashley Garlett on 63 nett from Mark Luitjes 66 net from Ryan Russell on 67 net.
Ball comp: 29 balls were on offer from score of 63 to 73.

Results of the A Grade women’s MDGA District Championships round one was Michele Philp on 70 net from Lee Bottomley on 72 net.
B Grade was won by Deb Davison on 68 net from Catherine Lanigan on 70 net.
Ball comp: Eight ball were handed to player on score of 68-73.

Sunday was round two of MDGA with the A Grade men’s daily winner Joe Morello on a great score of 66 net from Jai Hudson on 71 net.
B Grade was won by Justin Clay on 70 net on a countbck from Glen Wallace also on 70 net.
C Grade winner was Thomas Clark-Tosik with sensational score of 62 net from Mathias Moisidi on 66 net.
Ball comp: 26 balls were on offer to players with score between 62 and 72.
NTPs: 3rd – Adam Martin (150cm), 7th – Craig Tung (83cm), 11th – Rob Garioch (175cm), 18th – Ivan McKenzie (149cm).
Greg Rhodes had an eagle on the par four 16th hole on Wednesday and Cam Stewart had an eagle on the par five 13th hole on Saturday.
The women’s final round of the club championships will be held on Saturday, December 4 and rounds three and four of the men’s club championships will be held on Saturday, December 4 and Sunday, December 5.
The Golf Club AGM will be held on Tuesday, November 16 at 7.30pm in the Kookaburra Lounge.
MERBEIN
LAST Wednesday the event was par and the winner was Ken Matulic on +1 with Mark Holding runner-up on -1.
NTPs: 2nd – Ken Matulic; 12th – Terry Fitzpatrick (540cm), 16th – Ken Matulic (325cm), 18th – Ken Matulic (255cm).
On Saturday there was a good field with an Ambrose in 2s, so thanks to all that particpated.
The winners were: Dave Timmis and Fox Mulder 66½ net with the runner-up Graham Kerr and Greg Marshall 67½ net.
Ball comp: Mick Thomson and Craig Hocking 68 net, Robert Redman and Roger Walder 69¼ net.
NTPs: 3rd – Roger Walder (300cm), 3rd – “Pigeon” Graham Kerr (600cm), 8th – Robert Redman (825cm), 12th – Robert Redman (700cm), 16th – Ken Matulic from Wednesday’s competition. Meat raffle was won by “Hector” Robert Redman.
Today’s event is stableford while on Saturday we recommence club championships round two (stroke) and round three will be the following Saturday, November 20 including the Monthly Medal.

MILDURA
COMPETITIONS are now in back full swing at the Mildura fairway,s with the ladies playing an 18 hole and nine hole stroke event last Tuesday.
Margaret Morrison won the 18 hole event with 69 net followed by runner up Jan Mierswa on 70 net. Dawn Jackson returned a fine 31 net to give her a comfortable win over runner up Mavis Clinch on 36 net in the nine hole event.
On Wednesday the men had a stroke round in two grades for the Monthly Mug. With the rain clearing for the afternoon players, the winner of A Grade was Simon Kelly 68 net runner up to Maurice Warn and third place Tim Mitchell both on 69 net. Bill Forrester won the mug in B Grade with 68 net while Fred Stewart came runner up on 69 net and third place John Edwards 70 net.
NTPs went to Jeff Giddings on the 1st (189cm), Robert Pallot on the 10th (447cm), Dennis Grigg 12th (290cm) and the valued Pig Pin prize on the 2nd won the money for Paul Treacy (69cm).
Ball comp rundown went to a countback on 73 net.
Saturday was the annual Captain verse President match playing a stableford competition where the Captain’s team eventually claimed the win from narrowest of margins again (1624 points) over the President’s team (1618 points).
Individual scores on the day were Kane Cameron winner of A Grade on 39 points, runner up David Murray with 37 and Rob Donaldson third on 37.
The top score of the day was in B Grade with Wayne Dahmes on 43 points closely followed in second place by Tom Ryan 41 and third place went to Jayden Boehm 38.
In C Grade Ferdie Bergamin enjoyed the win with 39 points, runner up Eric Bruton 37 and Ian Brodie in third place with 37.
Phil Green won nearest the pin on the first (74cm), the Pig Pin award went to Mike Sette on the 2nd (161cm), Boof Ferguson on the 10th (252cm) and Wayne Dahmes on the 12th (156cm).
Today is a stableford round, Friday is the Twilight nine holes, Saturday is the first round of the men’s championships stroke, while on Monday is the veterans district golf event and on Tuesday the ladies have their Medalist of the Year awards for 18 and nine hole competitions.
RIVERSIDE
IT was worth the travel up from Ouyen for Joe Mitchell, after he burnt up the course in Monday’s veterans and friends stableford.
A super round of 42 points gave him the win, over Rob Arnold, who also had a terrific score of 40, but had to settle for runner up.
NTPs: 4th – Mark Woodhouse (422cm), 18th – Gary Van Steenis (69cm).
Its was a medley stableford on Melbourne Cup day and Ned Duthie had the timing, the rhythm and the winning score, finishing with a brilliant 45 points. Runner-up, Ian Fleming would have thought he had the goods to grab a win after his 42, but once again, the winner came in with a doozy.
Michael Holcroft played the Par five 14th perfectly to snare an eagle.
NTPs: 4th – Marty Scott (165cm), 7th – Michael Holcroft (164cm), 12th – Kendall Marchment (155cm), 18th – Oscar Mannix (600cm).
Par was the comp for the men on Wednesday, in two grades. A countback was required for the placings in A Grade, with Timothy Earl coming in with the best back nine to win, in front of Chris O’Brien and Bodan Bishop, all on a fine +2.
Michael Burton came in one better in B Grade, landing a very nice +3 for his win, well in front of runner-up Clinton Barry on -1, after a countback against Kevin Eastwood.
NTPs: 4th and 7th – Alan Connolly (30cm and 890cm), 18th – Andrew Forbes (130cm).
Oaks Day on Thursday was overflowing with laughs from the ladies, with the day being focused on fun at the races.
The Mallee Scrolling Gallery nine hole, four-person four-person BB stableford was won by the team of Adel Del Corobbo, Lyn Delmenico, Janette Mason and Ros Nash, on a very pleasing 26 points.
Birthday girl, Marg McIntyre together with her team of, Jill Shalders, Chitra Rankin and Prue Hyde were just one back on 25.
NTP: 4th – Jill Shalders (175cm).
Friday’s nine hole medley stableford saw Joshua Kelly winning on a fine 20 points. Second place had to go to a count back, with it going the way of Jeff Wilkie on 19.
The Ladies played stableford on Saturday and Lyn Thompson had a lovely 37 points to win, in front of Lorraine Palmer on 33.
NTPs: 4th – Jan Lloyd (54cm), 18th – Wendy Dawson (135cm).
The men played par for the Drummonds Voucher and David Lloyd won with an excellent score of +4.
Allan McMaster took out the A Grade on a super +3, over Ian Dickason’s +1, while a count back in B Grade gave Riley Austin a win, from Dallas Kalms, both on +2.
NTPs: 4th – Dallas Kalms (210cm), 7th – Barry Pilgrim (272cm), 12th – Alan McMaster (370cm), 17th – Ricky Hayes (292cm), 18th – Braydon Collicoat (140cm).
Medley stableford on Sunday and Gavin Minter took the win after a three way count back, leaving Nicholas George in second place, followed by Reece Farr, all on 39 points.
NTPs: 7th and 18th – Noel Thomas (69cm, 84cm).
VETERANS
MONDAY, November 15, will be the day that the district veteran golfers next meet at Mildura Golf Resort, playing single stableford.
It has been a disrupted season due to COVID restrictions but we will end our year by returning to our normal routine. Having double vaccinated members the day will start with signing in using QR codes and player registrations from 8.30am onwards.
Green fees, a lunch and competition fees will be covered for $20. Don’t forget to select which dish you want for lunch.
Have a practice putt while you wait for Greenie to call everyone together to find out any local rules, be allocated a starting tee and if necessary be placed in a group.
A shotgun start at 9:30 gets the day underway. Check your handicap at the pro shop and collect your cart if you have ordered one.
At the 19th hole we rejoin the group for lunch followed by prize presentations. Don’t forget to measure any great drives that land on the par threes so that you are in contention for a Nearest the Pin prize. We will hear who has won prizes for attendance through the incentive program.
Following that we will be conducting our Annual General Meeting. The normal business will be attended to with reports from the captain, the treasurer and the president. An election will be held for all executive positions and ideas and issues discussed.

RED CLIFFS
A GOOD field of 38 ladies turned up at Red Cliffs for their first competition day after the easing of the latest lockdown. The weather was not so good, with some getting caught in the downpour of rain.
It was triple sixes for the ladies and stableford for the men.
The winning ladies team was Sally Jones, Chris Taylor and Heather Shaw with 85 points from Dee Hopkins, Jan Boyce and Fran Mackay on 80 points.
In the men’s competition Mark Collett was the winner on 38 points from Brad Morgan on 37.
On Saturday the men played a stroke game and the winner in A Grade was Mal Goodieson on 70 net from Neville Birch on 73 net.
B Grade winner was Chris Chase on 68 net from Ian Doering on 70 net.
NTPs: 3rd – Neville Birch, 5th – Deanne Davis, 8th – Geoff Smith, 12th – Mark Collett, 15th – John Prictor, 18th – Michael Hogan.
The ladies competition was stableford with Sheryl Blagus winning A Grade on 39 points from Deanne Davis on 36 points. In B Grade Margaret Fumberger won with on 41 points from Heather Shaw on 39 points.

Today the ladies have an SGS at 9am playing a 4BBB stableford, followed by the yearly presentations. The men will be playing Stableford off the white markers.
