Can Robinvale Euston get over the Ridge?

Round 5 Matches

Robinvale Euston v Nursery Ridge

CAN anyone stop Shannon Bowen in his tracks? The Nursery Ridge opening batsman has made 179 runs in three innings without being dismissed so far.

The Robinvale Euston bowling attack is next up for him, although the Rangers would be feeling confident on their home deck, especially after rolling Tempy for just 47 last week.

The battle between the top two sides heads out to Len Arnott Oval after Robinvale Euston bounced back from an opening round defeat to win their last two games.

Ryan Middlebrook caused most of the damage with the ball last week taking a miserly 4/9, while opener Tom Lister is inside the top five for run scorers so far.

Outside of Bowen, it’s still a strong Ridge line-up with a host of contributors each week and the reigning champs will be favourites.

Ouyen Rams v Cardross

FOLLOWING their opening win of the season against Millewa last week, Ouyen have the confidence leading into today’s clash against Cardross at Blackburn Park.

The Rams posted a solid 7/159 last week led by Ethan Munro (44), Conor Schultz (33) and Daniel Kay (24 not out), with the latter also grabbing three wickets in a strong all-round effort.

It wasn’t quite so rosy for Cardross last week, who lost by six wickets to ladder leaders Nursery Ridge.

Peter Jory (34) and skipper Seth Langian (27) held their own with the bat, while Noah Lanigan is equal top of the wicket takers table after three scalps.

Expect a tight encounter down the highway.

Millewa v Tempy

LAST year’s grand finalists Tempy are bottom of the ladder after four rounds, albeit only two completed games following wash outs.

The Tigers will look to get on the board for the first time in the new season when they travel to Quandong Park to face Millewa.

Tempy are yet to pass 100 with the bat so far, scoring just 47 last week, although Ryan Monaghan is equal top of the wicket takers table.

Following a solid win over Cardross, Millewa went down to Ouyen Rams last week, with Chris Clark (39) and Scottie Clark (33) putting up the most resistance.

The Bullants will play their last three matches of the calendar year at home and will look to remain inside the top four.
