Robinvale Euston show comeback form

Robinvale Euston v Ouyen Rams

WELCOME back to the competition, Robinvale Euston.

Following their round 1 loss to Cardross and a wet weather draw, the Rangers have won three games on the trot, including a victory over the previously undefeated Nursery Ridge.

In Red Cliffs Cricket Association round 6, the Rangers are at home on Saturday against the Ouyen Rams, who are coming off their own win against Cardross.

In just his second knock of the season, Ethan Gill top-scored with 32 for the Rangers last week, with Luke Benham adding a season-high 26 at the top of the order.

Gill and Ryan Kitt each took three wickets, proving there is plenty of bowling depth in their side.

For Ouyen, Conor Schultz has raced up to third on the run scoring table following his 45 last week, with Lachlan Comrie (34) and Keegan Keely (31) also proving solid hands.

Expect this second versus third clash to be the best of the round.

Nursery Ridge v Tempy

REIGNING premiers Nursery Ridge will be smarting after their first loss of the new campaign against Robinvale Euston.

Tempy, on the other hand, will be full of confidence after their bowling performance against Millewa, holding the Bullants to just 61.

After not being dismissed in his first three games, Shannon Bowen was finally knocked over for 17 last week, giving him an average of 196 so far.

This time Jason Finch was the standout performer with 32 and 3/27, while Kurt Freer scored 38.

Nic and Jace Monaghan each picked up three wickets for the Tigers last week, while Ryan McKay made 30 at the top of the order.

Tempy will be out to reverse the result from the first of their grand final replays a few weeks ago.

Millewa v Cardross

THE two bottom sides on the table meet in what looms to be an important early clash.

One-day games give teams more opportunities to come back from losses, but with Millewa up against Ouyen and Cardross facing Nursery Ridge in next week’s last round before Christmas, a win for either side would come in handy this week.

Both sides were bowled out for less than 100 last week, suggesting the batting could do with some work, although Jeff Mitchell did score a handy 35 for the Lions.

Bowling has probably been the biggest strength of the two sides, with Noah Lanigan (Cardross) and Scottie Clark (Millewa) leading all wicket takers this season with 11 and eight respectively.

The Bullants got the chocolates in their last encounter on November 20.
