THE ladies’ Stableford competition played on Tuesday last week was won by Carla Sheriff, on 34 points, followed by runner-up Mabel Crouch (33) and Glenda Hiskins (30).

Wednesday’s men’s Stableford competition was played in three grades, and the winner of A Grade on 40 points was Ron Casey over second-placed Rob Pallett (39) then Neville Hodgetts settled for third (38).

Les Williams picked up the win in B Grade on 39 points from brother Keith (38). Third was Stephen Reberger (36) while in C Grade top score was 40 points by winner Graham Robertson. Runner-up was James Pippin (38) and third place went to Graeme Worthington (37).

NTPs: 1st – Rob Young 220cm; 2nd – Alan Lillia 320cm; 10th – Andrew Stanbrook 358; 12th – Ron Casey 270cm.

Placegetters from Friday’s events were Bev Stone, winner of the ladies’ 18-hole Stableford, on 39 points, and runner-up Val Whilelaw (32) . The twilight competition was also won by Bev with 22 points for the nine and Sandra Hutchinson (19) took second place .

Today’s competition is men’s Stableford and Friday’s will be a ladies’ 18-hole event. Saturday’s play is medley Stableford, Monday’s will be vets and there will be Stableford for the ladies on Tuesday.

TODAY’S play is a men’s 18-hole Stableford competition, with nine or 18-hole Stableford round for the ladies.

On Friday there will be a medley nine-hole Stableford, with regular Stablefords on Saturday and Sunday.

Last Wednesday’s A Grade men’s winner was Mark McDonald, with 45 points, from Jack Budd (40 points) and Aaron Blake (39 points).

B Grade was won by Wayne Demery (39 points) ahead of Trevor Carroll and Phil Maw (both 38 points), while Greg Lee took out C Grade with 37 points ahead of Greg Murphy (37) and Leon Jones (35).

Balls went from 35 to 45 points.

NTPs: 3rd Zilzie Wine – Michael Baynes 360cm; 7th McGuigan Wines – Ian Walder 140cm; 11th Walkers IGA – Glenn Marr 230cm; 18th Trentham Estate – Geoff Sayers 263cm.

Lee Bottomley won the women’s competition with 33 points from Cath Eddie on 32.

NTPs: 3rd Zilzie Wine – Nia Whittle 184cm; 7th Terry White Chemist – Lee Bottomley 338cm; 11th Buronga Bake – Cath Eddie 135cm; 18th Trentham Estate – Lee Bottomley 87cm.

Friday’s medley nine-hole Stableford was won by Peter Duscher with 24 points from Walter Schulz on 21.

Balls went from 17 to 20 points.

NTPs: 11th – Greg Rhodes 595cm; 18th – Greg Rhodes 372cm.

On Saturday the course was closed for Christmas.

Sunday’s medley Stableford was won by Ray Lyons, with 39 points, ahead of David Hancock (37), Mark Woodhouse (36) and James Daly (36).

Balls went from 34 to 39 points.

NTPs: 3rd – Stefan Knudsen 1100cm; 7th – Mark Woodhouse 94cm; 11th – Tim Rix 390cm.
