Red Cliffs Cricket Association Round 11 preview

Millewa v Ouyen Rams

A SURPRISE win for Millewa against Ouyen today could put them in the box seat for the final place in the top four.

With five games remaining in the home and away season, the Bullants currently hold fourth place with a 10-point gap on Cardross, but the Rams will be a tough prospect today.

Ouyen had found themselves on top of the ladder for a week following their win over Nursery Ridge, however, their defeat to Robinvale Euston has pushed them all the way back to third.

Scottie Clark is the main man for Millewa, having made 204 runs and taken 14 wickets, while Anthony Carroll (14 wickets) and Ashley Durie (172 runs) have also played important roles.

For the visitors, Conor Schultz (328 runs) and Ethan Munro (184) have been important at the top of the order, while Alex Morrish (15 wickets) and Daniel Pryse (10) have been best with the ball.

Cardross v Nursery Ridge

NURSERY Ridge have reclaimed their place back at the top of the RCCA ladder and are aiming to put their foot down in the chase for the minor premiership.

Their first stop on that path is at Cardross to take on a Lions side aiming to keep pace with the top four.

Shannon Bowen has again been leading from the front with his unbeaten 72 last week reportedly taking him past the 10000 run mark in the competition. He’s currently averaging 111 in eight innings.

Some economic bowling last week also held Tempy right up, plus the wicket taking ability of Jason Finch (20 wickets) and Dan Nulty (12) is ever-present.

Cardross paceman Noah Lanigan still leads the wickets tally with 24, while Jeremy Aworth and Seth Lanigan will need to help provide the runs.

Tempy v Robinvale Euston

AN important win for Robinvale Euston against Ouyen last week left them in second on the ladder, trailing Nursery Ridge only by net run rate.

Today they travel down the highway to Tempy, where the Tigers are trying to climb from the bottom of the table.

Last time the two sides met, Tempy held the Rangers to 131, but in response could manage only 86 themselves.

Trav Shawcross (32) and Luke Benham (25) led the way with the bat for Robinvale Euston against the Rams, before the former followed up with three wickets.

It hasn’t been a season to remember for the Tigers, but Tate Hulland (29 not out), Zac Robertson (27) and Nick Monagahan (3/23) all
