MILDURA Specialist School students will be able to receive their jabs in a trusted environment at a government mini-vaccination clinic.
More than 150 primary schools will soon host mini-vaccination clinics, which help local doctors and pharmacies administer vaccines to children in comfortable, familiar locations.
Mildura Specialist School students will be able to receive their vaccines at the school.
The clinic is part of the Victorian Government’s $4 million grants program.
The government said GPs and pharmacists would receive up to $6500 to cover staffing, travel and equipment costs to go to schools and vaccinate children and an additional $5000 clinic establishment fee and additional loadings for specialist schools or small, rural or regional schools would be available.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said now was the time for parents and carers to get students vaccinated.
“We’re making it easier than ever to get jabs in kids’ arms in a friendly environment, close to home,” he said.
“We’ve done everything we can to make school a safe place when kids get back in the classroom, but the best thing families can do to protect their children is get them protected by a vaccine as quickly as possible.
“The government said the clinic would not be open to the public.
