Mildura COVID cases slip below 600

THE number of active COVID-19 cases in the Mildura local government area remains high, but has slipped below the 600 mark.

There were 172 new cases reported in the LGA over Wednesday and Thursday, and the total number of active cases on Thursday was 595, 25 fewer than the previous day.

Over the same period, in the Robinvale postcode outside the LGA, there were five new cases for a total of 20 active cases on Thursday.

Victoria recorded another 7000 confirmed or probable new cases on Thursday and NSW recorded 11,400. In Victoria, 23 COVID patients lost their lives and nine deaths were recorded in NSW.
