VETERANS
In a little under two weeks, the next district veteran golf day will be held at the Red Cliffs Golf Club.
The single stableford event is on Monday, April 4. As advised last week, if you would like to hire a cart, it would be a good idea to get in early as they are in limited supply.
Registration starts at 8.30am and at 9am. Ned Klemm, who will be acting captain while Greenie is away, will get us organised for the 9.30am shotgun start.
This is a popular day so numbers are expected to be high. Those members who were unable to play last round will be able to collect their badges when completing their registration. Players are reminded that it is an expectation that badges are worn before and after the game. Once again a draw will be held after presentations with the lucky wearer winning a golf ball.
Members are reminded that as members of the district association they are automatically members of the Victorian Veteran Golfers Association. Information about statewide events and other district competitions are found online at the association’s website, vvga.org.au. Updates and news can be found on this easy to navigate site.
New members are very welcome, both male and female players. Just turn up on the day. You need to be aged 50 or older and pay a one-off joining fee of $10.
