VETERANS
THE recent rain has caused headaches for many but it has been generally welcomed by local golf clubs. The extra water has been great for the tees, fairways and greens although it might have resulted in more maintenance. It will certainly be welcomed when the district veteran golfers make their way to the Merbein Golf Course on Monday, November 7.
As usual registration commences around 8.30am with captain John Green giving his final pre-game instructions before sending players to their starting tees. A shotgun start at 9.30am will see pairs compete in the 4BBB Stableford event. It is expected that John will finally be able to retire from the captaincy.
Players are reminded to wear their badges and to have checked their GA scores online to accurately know their handicaps for this course.
After our meal and presentations we will be holding our Annual General Meeting. Players are asked to stay and participate by contributing to the ideas and feedback shared by the members.
All leadership positions are vacated and up for re-election. Our proposed schedule for next year will be finalised and we will hear reports from the president, captain and treasurer. Any agenda items that you wish to discuss need to be sent to the secretary or discussed with your club representative prior to this meeting.
The association continues to have support of members, local clubs and sponsors and will strive to provide great golf days. Be part of this.
