Mildura’s unique ‘Boat House’ for sale

WITH a “coastal look” in one of Mildura’s best known locations, the unique Boat House will be up for auction early next year.

Keen investors and buyers will have the opportunity to step back in time, when the house, located at 181 Cureton Avenue, opens its doors.

The Boat House was built in the 1960s, after the property was subdivided off The Bungalow, which is heritage listed.

The property was previously owned by the Leng family. It has been kept in its original condition by the present owners, who have occupied it since 1991.

It is believed to have been called the Boat House due to its architectural design and connection to the river.

Tierney Real Estate director Ryan Tierney said the property was very distinctive.

“It’s unique fronts bring in more surf and coastal feels to a regional hub like Mildura, which makes the property unique,” he said.

“It’s architecturally designed.”

Mr Tierney expected the property to attract the attention of many local and national buyers.

“We anticipate there will be both buying demographics from developers for future subdivision or those who wish to rejuvenate this beautiful masterpiece,” he said.

“We expected investors far and wide, those who are linked to the region prior, and also local astute buyers and investors. Many people know it from walking past or taking kids to Jaycee park. They have a strong connection to it.”

Mr Tierney said the property had been kept in good condition and had an excellent structure.

The property will go to auction on January 14.
