Sharpshooter seals Nichols Point’s fate

CLINICAL finishing by Irymple Knights’ Natalie Prictor proved the difference in her side’s S-League senior women’s clash with Nichols Point on Sunday.

With two well-taken goals, one just before half-time and another shortly after the break, Prictor propelled her team to a hard-fought 2-0 victory.

Her second goal effectively sealed the fate of the match, leaving Nichols Point with an uphill battle to overcome.

In senior men’s S-League action on the weekend, Mildura United celebrated a much-awaited victory as they faced off against Nichols Point.

United wasted no time in asserting their dominance as Thanh Van Phan found the net within the first minute of the match. This early goal set the tone for United’s performance.

Despite a spirited fightback from the Pointers, Mildura United held a 2-1 lead at half-time.

Wayesou Frorberi ensured victory for United in the 81st minute, securing a 3-1 win and their first win of the season.

The result was well deserved for United, who have shown that they are heading in the right direction.

The final men’s match of the day featured ladder leaders Mildura City taking on Three Colours.

It turned out to be a one-sided affair as Mildura City asserted their dominance with an emphatic 6-0 victory.

City striker Dominic Ghidinelli had a terrific performance, securing a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Tyler Rayson continued to shine as City’s midfield maestro, contributing to City’s attacking prowess throughout the match.

Defensively, City were once again rock solid, keeping yet another clean sheet.

Having conceded only one goal in six rounds of competition, their defensive strength has become a hallmark of the team.
