MILDURA’S state MP will take part in the Melbourne Marathon next month, running a half-distance event to raise money for a Sunraysia charity.
Jade Benham has entered the 21.1km half-marathon, to be held in conjunction with the full-length event on October 15.
She will run to help raise money for CHAILIS, which supports sick children and their families in Sunraysia.
“The work John (Burfitt) and his volunteer committee do is inspiring and has helped many families for over 40 years,” she said.
“In 2022, CHAILIS was able to assist over 15 families in need.”
Ms Benham said she aimed to conquer the half-marathon in under two hours and 10 minutes.
“It’s a challenge that combines personal achievement with community impact,” she said.
