Lister wins Thurlow Medal

ROBINVALE Euston all-rounder Jacob Lister capped his Red Cliffs Cricket Association season in style by claiming the A Grade Les Thurlow Medal.

Making 306 runs and taking 21 wickets for the campaign, the Rangers star earned the competition’s top individual honour by just solitary vote during Tuesday night’s count.

Lister earned 16 votes for his season, finishing just ahead of Nursery Ridge bowler Jason Finch on 15, who took 22 wickets for the season.

Five votes further back were a trio of players from the dominant Ouyen Rams side, captain Alex Morrish and brothers Travis and Brad Parsons all on 10 votes.

Leading run scorer Aaron Negi of South West claimed the B Grade Brendan Bell Medal by compiling 24 votes, ahead of Curlwaa’s Jack Baird on 21, and Zac Harker (Ouyen Rams) and Peter Jory (Fire Brigade) on 12.

The RCCA grand finals will see Ouyen Rams and Tempy collide in A Grade, while Curlwaa face Nursery Ridge in B Grade.
