Residential land plan for Irymple

A DEVELOPMENT plan is being prepared for low-density residential land in Irymple to ensure that the area develops in a coordinated way.

The plan will be a blueprint to guide the design of future subdivision, ensuring that subdivision makes provision for well-connected roads and pedestrian access, open space and drainage whilst preserving important characteristics.

The study area will cover more than 100 properties south of Fifteenth Street, generally between Benetook and Sandilong avenues.

Mildura Council is seeking feedback to help inform the Irymple Low Density Residential Development Plan.

A Draft Issues and Opportunities Paper, the first step in preparing the plan, is now ready for public comment.

Councillor for infrastructure and assets, Glenn Milne, said the first stage in preparing the plan was identifying and detailing planning issues and opportunities within the study area.

“Through public consultation, we want to check with the community that the information we have is up-to-date and reflective of the Irymple of today,” he said.

“We also want to understand what residents value about this area and hear your ideas about how the area should develop.”

The paper has been developed with five broad themes: Land use; urban form, built form and heritage; drainage and servicing; public realm and open space; and access and movement.

Council’s strategic planning team will also be available at a community session on Monday, April 15 from 4.30pm-7.30pm at the Irymple Leisure Centre.

Those interested can nominate a 30-minute timeslot to speak directly with staff via strategic.planning@mildura.vic.gov.au

The community can view the Draft Issues and Opportunities Paper and provide feedback by visiting yoursay.mildura.vic.gov.au/ILDRDP before Monday, April 22.
