New boss for V/Line

WILLIAM Tieppo has been appointed the new chief executive officer of the V/Line.

Mr Tieppo will begin his role on August 25 taking over from current CEO Warwick Horsley.

Mr Tieppo has several decades of experience in the transport sector and Gabrielle Willams, Minister for Public and Active Transport, said he will bring an invaluable perspective.

“Mr Tieppo brings extensive leadership experience to V/Line that will help Victoria’s regional train and coach network continue to grow, delivering more services and better connectivity for regional passengers,” she said.

“I congratulate Will on his appointment as CEO and thank Warwick for his leadership throughout his time acting in the role.”

V/Line is currently conducting significant growth to its regional train network, such as the inclusion of more than 90 services to the V/Line timetable.

Gabrielle Bell, V/Line Board Chair, said Mr Tieppo will be key to V/Line’s ongoing development.

“We look forward to welcoming Will Tieppo into V/Line as we continue our focus on delivering high quality services on one of the world’s fastest growing regional rail networks.” she said
