Cardross defeat inspired Werrimull

CARDROSS continued their strong start to the season, with an impressive four-goal victory over an inspired Werrimull outfit, who were celebrating Brooke Watson’s 150th game.

With the win, the Lions have already eclipsed their total wins in 2023, indicating they are well and truly on the rise after defeating last year’s premiers.

Tamara Hamence, Charlotte McKendrick and Bronte Burgess all continued their strong start to the season, all three huge contributors in front of their home crowd.

Nangiloc also remains undefeated after a solid win 43-32 win over Gol Gol.

The Demons look like they’re in similar form to last year, while the Hawks have now lost to the competition’s two undefeated sides.

Jordan Madigan, Jemma Lawn and Jessemy Thornton worked hard in their team’s losing effort, while Chloe Nelson, Ginine Sluiter and Tamara Loveridge stood up for Nangiloc.

In the other game, Bambill were comfortable winners over Meringur, 52-32.

After an opening round loss to Nangiloc, the Saints rebounded strongly to get their first points of the season, while the Kangaroos have been unable to get on the board.

Samantha Garraway, Mikayla Mole and Maddy Torney were prolific and will hope to build some confidence off their performances.

For Meringur, Madelyn McPhee, Teagan Pettigrew and Emily Gleeson were named in the best.
