IT was as clinical as it gets for Ouyen United as they trounced Imperials 57-28 in the Kangas’ best win of the SFNL season.
The great performance started early for the Kangas, dominating the first quarter to be up 15-4 at the first change.
It was a performance that had coach Kyra Nathan smiling even more than normal.
“It was amazing,” beamed Nathan.
“That was the best team game we’ve played all season. Everything just clicked from defence down to attack. All the things we’ve worked on at training we demonstrated today.”
The numbers back up Nathan’s statements. United conceded no more than nine goals in any individual quarter in a defensive masterclass.
“Our pressure from our attackers to our defence end was right up,” Nathan said.
“It gave our defenders a good look at the ball as we forced them to pass high and wide.”
Ouyen United were able to expose some youngsters in Maddi Plant and Sienna Hulland to A Grade netball.
“They did really well and kept our flow from early in the game going, which was great for us and those girls,” Nathan said.
It was no surprise that Nathan put defensive duo Tsharni Burns and Esther Manley in her best.
Shelby Armstrong gave it her all from WD for Imperials while substitute Nyah Cameron made an impact at GA after half-time.
