VETERANS
ON Monday 26 players contested the Ouyen Golf Club’s 4BBB Stableford medley event. The course was in good conditon after some recent rain and after a frosty start, the players enjoyed a pleasant sunny day.
As always, there was a warm welcome with a hot beverage and a mug of soup. It was pleasing to have 10 women compete in this medley event.
Local knowledge seemed to have benefitted the winning team as they had a runaway victory. Visitors to do well were George Mason and Jimmy Stephens, and Ned Klemm and Graeme Irvin, with both pairs enjoying podium finishes.
The sand scrapes proved difficult to land on with only three NTP awards presented.
Thanks to everyone from the Ouyen Golf Club for their preparation in conducting another very successful day. The ladies served a delicious country style lunch that was appreciated by all.
Our next event is a stroke event for our championship round to be held at the Riverside Golf Club on Monday, July 1. Players must have played twice during the last 12 months to be eligible to win the event.
