Finalists locked in

THE top four in Millewa A Grade netball have been confirmed, it’s just the final standings to be decided in the remaining matches of the home-and-away season.

Cardross earned a win over Meringur, arresting a three-game losing run in the process, ensuring they will play an elimination final against Nangiloc.

Werrimull and Bambill, who face each other this weekend, will meet in the qualifier. However the minor premiership is still up for grabs.

The Saints remain four points behind the Magpies in the chase for top spot following their 58-25 victory over Gol Gol at Alcheringa Oval.

Bambill have won four of their past five games and Saturday’s win, led by regular performers Samantha Garraway, Kaylie Monaghan and Ebony Roberts, ensured they will finish in the top two.

It has been a tough season for Gol Gol, who are yet to taste victory, but they will be hoping to break the drought in their final two games.

Sophie Lanyon, Abbey Curran and Ebonee Newson were their best performers on Saturday.

Werrimull’s premiership defence continues to roll along nicely. The Magpies pocketed another win on Saturday at Lake Cullullerine, defeating last year’s grand final adversaries Nangiloc 45-38.

The Magpies remain on track for the minor premiership, which will be confirmed if they beat old rivals Bambill this weekend.

Coach Anna Thomson, Erin Sell and Aislinn Campbell were best for the Pies, while Ginine Sluiter, Chloe Nelson and Kristy Middleton were top performers for the Demons.

Meringur were aiming to keep their finals hopes alive, however Cardross earned the 59-49 win on their home court.

Tamara Hamence, Christina Villiva and Darcie Gray led the charge for the victors, while Fionna Wright, Bella Connell and Teagan Pettigrew were best performed for the Roos.
