TWO people have been arrested in Red Cliffs this afternoon as part of a search for a Mildura man following a series of offences in the area over the past week.
Following calls to Triple Zero made by several members of the public 28-year-old Jayden Day and a 23-year-old woman were arrested without incident, having been located in the backyard of a residential address on Buloke Street.
The arrests follow a series of incidents in the Mildura area dating back to Thursday 28 May which are being investigated by detectives from the Armed Crime Squad, including an alleged armed robbery and non-fatal shooting at Hawthorne Grove in Mildura, an assault at a business on Indi Avenue on 2 June and a cross-border pursuit which ended in the Trentham Cliffs area Wednesday morning.
A 28-year-old Mildura man was also arrested on 2 June in relation to the assault in Red Cliffs and remains in hospital under police guard
Over the past week, significant searches of the area have taken place involving detectives from the Armed Crime Squad and Mildura Crime Investigation Unit, local Mildura police, the Special Operations Group and other specialist services with support from NSW Police.
