Trainer, hoop honoured

RENOWNED trainer Patrick Payne and veteran jockey Brad Rawiller have take out top awards from this year’s Mildura Racing Club season

Payne was named Trainer and while Rawiller has been announced as Jockey of the Year .

Their efforts culminated in combining to win the 100th bet365 Mildura Cup, with six-year-old gelding Jimmy The Bear saluting at the post.

Austy Coffey and Michelle Payne were equal runners-up for Trainer of the Year, while Harry Coffey was runner-up for Jockey of the Year.

Patrick Payne and Rawiller will have a race named after them in Saturday’s meeting at Sandilong Park.
