A VICTORIA Police spokesperson has said it's believed a "hate-based" graffiti attack in Red Cliffs last week happened in broad daylight.

Anti-Israel graffiti was sprayed onto the public stage at Barclay Square in the town.

It was spotted Friday evening and removed by Saturday.
