FIREFIGHTING volunteers responded to a tree fire at Kulkyne Way, Iraak, on Saturday.

About 6.30pm, crews were called to a fire south of Rudds Road.

The fire engulfed multiple trees and then quickly spread to nearby roadside vegetation.

Kulkyne Way was shut for a brief period, as flames headed towards the southeast and ignited scrub on the opposite side of the road.
